How about une petite chanson?

haha!! oh ANALYSE, yeah i can imagine how motivated you are singing this song every morning. LOL

and yap, it's a song that a listener can easily sing along to, even if he/she doesn't know what he's/she's saying.

I really love this song, been singing a lot lately that Cléms has already memorized the lyrics, haha!!

You should check out Pink Martini's first album. It's a blend of French, Japanese, Italian, Greek, Spanish, Cuban and Brazilian music. An album that's great for dancing or for just plain listening to the beautiful music. You'll like it.

Oh yes, I almost forgot, your daughter's taking French lessons, nah, she won't fail...

Just a little precision, SACHIKO...

The word 'déjeuner', when used as a noun, it means 'lunch'. But when it's used as a verb, it's 'to eat/take lunch'.

Now, the word 'breakfast', in French it's 'petit déjeuner'.

But if you say, 'Je ne veux pas déjeuner', that means 'I don't want to eat/take my breakfast'.

And If you want to say, 'I don't want to eat/take my lunch', you simply say, 'Je ne veux pas manger' (manger=to eat) OR 'Je n'ai pas envie de manger' (It's like...I don't feel like eating...) and NOT 'Je ne veux pas déjeuner'.

They may sound complicated, but nah, not really...
See? Now you're learning French!

'Je ne veux is a negative form,don't like~~? sounds complicated and I know it is not easy to pronounce, you have many silent letters. My daughter has plans to travel to Canada.y'know they also speak French there. Before graduating,she and some friends,will go to France. That will be 2007.. ciao!

ne pas... is the negative form.
the word veux is the conjugated form (present tense) of the verb vouloir (to want), used in the first person (Je) singular.

Hi boks! I love listening to this! Thanks for the tip on Pink Martini I'll have to check it out. I can't speak French, Japanese, or Italian, but love listening to the music nonetheless :-)

Last night, I stayed up past my bedtime, got stuck watching an old Catherine Deneauve movie, Umbrellas of Cherbourg, a musical with music by Michel Legrand. Classic talaga!

I was here yesterday and I should have posted a comment before you made the comment link unavailable. ( _ _ ) Was waiting for the others to make a comment first cos I was truly surprised. Yours is one of my favorites and I will surely miss the kids' faces and stories.

Take your time and sort things up. Unlike you,my kids are all grown up.I started blogging (last October) to ease the loneliness when my eldest entered college and it really helped me forget the time passing and I can let my daughter read and see what's going on in my mind and the family. It must have really hit you in the heart when your kids told you that.Internet can be addicting and can sometimes caused you heartaches and headaches! Haha! I might stop blogging too when and if it is no longer fun for me. Right now,I'm enjoying blogging so I'll stay for a while. Hope you'll find time to say Hi,when the urge hit you.Will truly miss you. :)

Stumbled on to this blog and been reading it with great interest. It's funny because my French girlfriend was just singing this song in the car this morning! That was my first time hearing this song and the second time was thru this blog. lol! That's what you call, real coincidence!!!

I love the pics! I'm right now staying in one of the hotels (rue Rambuteau) in front of the Centre Georges Pompidou. Nice area!
